(Cleburne, TX) — A Cleburne man will be spending the rest of his life in prison for a 2018 deadly hit-and-run.

Joseph Haley received the sentence in Johnson County after being convicted in the death of 26 year old Danny Clements from Goat Neck.  Prosecutors say the 61-year-old had stolen a pickup and was drunk when he smashed head on into Clements’ truck on FM 1434.

He fled the scene of the crash on foot but was later found by DPS Troopers.  Haley will be eligible for parole in 2052.
